ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival

You will receive your rental car upon arrival at Lamezia Terme airport. You drive to the east coast of Calabria where we have reserved the first nicht for you in a 4-star Hotel in Catanzaro Lido, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Calabrian craft in the mountains

After breakfast in the hotel it´s a nice drive to S. Giovanni in Fiore. The famous church Abbazia Florense is a must to see! S. Giovanni is well known for its gold-smiths workings. You can visit "Museo demologico dell´economia, del lavoro e della storia sociale silana". Afterwards you can go shopping in the nice boutiqes of the village. Dinner and overnight accommodation in the 4-star Hotel.

Day 3: Between Ionian Sea and byzantine jewel
Today you discover Soverato - a beautiful coast town! Soverato is a bathing resort at the Ionic Coast of Calabria. Afterwards you have the opportunity to see one of the highlights of Calabria: the little church "La Cattolica" in Stilo - a Byzantine jewel of the 17. century. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Catanzaro Lido.

Day 4: Cultural Metropolis of Calabria - Cosenza

Today you visit Cosenza. This town is the pulsative center of Calabria, both in the past and present. The Emperor Frederick II. left his mark here in Calabria. The shopping street Corso Mazzini and the Old Town with its varous boutiques and Cafés invite you to a shopping tour. In the evening you drive to Camigliatello, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 5: The Sila wolf-pack

After breakfast you can stroll through the nice village Camigliatello, that is famous as a winter-sport destination. It is a perfect starting point for trips in the Sila national parc. There are pittoresque wooden-houses in the town. In a forest house there´s a nice exibition about the wolf of the Sila.

Day 6: Turbulences in the tyrrhenian coastal towns
After brekakfast to it`s a drive to the west coast of Calabria. The pilgrimage-church San Francesco di Paola is a popular point of reference for the worship of San Francesco di Paola. He is one of the most famous Saints of the region.

Afterwards you drive with your rental car to Amantea - a vibrant mediaeval village which is especially suited for a shopping tour. After this on your way to Capo Vaticano you can stop in Pizzo, where you can taste the delicious Tartufo-Icecream. Dinner and overnight accommodation in S. Domenica di Ricadi.

Day 7: Free-time, swimming, Tropea...
The last day of your action-packed week is free. Plan your day according to your wishes. Maybe you would simply like to enjoy the sun and sea at the hotel's own beach? Tropea which is not far from your hotel, is ideally situated not only for buying souvenirs, but it is also worth visiting because of its little streets, street cafes and the beach below the cliffs which all offer perfect photo opportunities. Dinner and overnight accommodation in a 3-star hotel.

Day 8: Departure
One last italian breakfast before you travel home. At Lamezia Terme airport you return your rental car and then its goodbye "bella Italia". Or maybe you do not want to leave the South of Europe so quickly? No problem - we can offer you a wide variety of holiday extensions which vary from hotel stays and private apartments to language, cooking and sports courses (diving, sailing and windsurfing).
