About the Sailing Cruise

The unique sailing area off Calabria - the fascinating island world of the Isole Eolie is an absolute must for both sailing and Italy fans. The group of islands, "the seven beauties" as the locals call this small archipelago off the north coast of Sicily, is something of a secret kept by sailors and is still relatively unknown. However there is no reason for this. The Mar Tirreno is one of the most wonderful sailing areas in the world and the islands around the central isle of Lipari are true dream destinations.

On the one hand you have the completely relaxed simplicity and peace of Alicudi and the lush nature of Salina, and on the other the chic lifestyle on Panarea and historical Lipari, but this only shows half the picture of this group of islands. The islands are all volcanic and are situated a comfortable distance from each other as well as from the mainland of Calabria (about 40 nautical miles from the coast of Tropea). Evidence of the volcanic history of the island can be seen in the hot springs and mud baths on Vulcano just as in the colourful eruptions on Stromboli. Even now the volcano is still smoking quite happily and the flow of lava goes directly into the sea. A particular highlight of this cruise is watching this natural theatre at sunset from on board the boat.

The climate in this area is even and mild with pleasant temperatures in early spring and into late autumn.

Our relaxed but yet sporty cruise is suitable for experienced sailors as well as those who have developed a new interest in sailing. Here everyone can let themselves go in the fresh sailing winds and enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea or have a romantic candlelit dinner on board. On land you can expect walks along the mountain slopes, crater excursions and a visit to the historic settlements.
